This incident took place in Kentucky but that does not mean it is not happening here in our community.

Talk with your children. Ask them if they have ever seen or heard of stories like this and then discuss what to do if they see it happening.

The only way we are going to get rid of this problem is to put a bright spotlight on it and make everyone aware that we are watching and it won’t be tolerated.

Bullying alters brain chemistry, leads to anxiety

Mice that were repeatedly bullied showed a reluctance to socialize with other mice – even when those mice were non threatening.

It is not a far leap to see that similar things happen with people. If you have a negative experience with a person, you are less likely to want to be around people and therefore have a harder time making friends.

The results from these kinds of studies is exactly why I am taking this so seriously.

If your school does not have a program like this one – why not start one.

Too many people sit back and wait for someone else to do something. If you are not sure how to start this type of program, ask your principal. If that does not work, call me and I will help you create it.

The only way that bullying is going to stop is if we ban together as a community and help each other.

Now is the time to take action – before someone else gets hurt.

Bullying has continued to plague our community for way to long and I have decided that enough is enough.

As a martial arts instructor for the past 18 years, I have the knowledge and the tools to help eradicate bullying from our community. I can no longer sit idly by and watch this problem continue to hurt the children in our community.

I have looked at the programs available to help kids and they all seem to lack a key element to solve the problem – they don’t give the child tools that they can use to defeat the bully. I take a two prong approach to helping kids. First, teach the kids how to verbally defeat a bully so they feel empowered and can go about their regular business. Second, I work on improving the child’s self confidence so they don’t care what the bully says – in essence nullifying them.

This website has been created to help anyone who is being bullied – no matter what their age or circumstance. If I can be of any help to you, please call me at 586-573-3881. My goal is to help keep our kids safe – stop bullying in its tracks – and allows kids to be able to enjoy growing up.
